Cannabis Engineers, Extractors, and Distributors

Who is CEED?

The Cannabis Engineers Extractors & Distributors (CEED) Local 420, IUJAT is a local union established solely to represent cannabis workers. We are affiliated with the International Union of Journeymen and Allied Trades (IUJAT), the oldest union in the United States, and their 100,000 members provide CEED with staff and political support.

Workers need the support of a strong organization that can help them secure quality contracts and benefits. Emergence of sales within the state’s nascent cannabis industry in recent years underlines this urgency. CEED is committed to advocating for workers while supporting employer growth through political action and education.

Founded by the International Union of Journeymen and Allied Trades (IUJAT), CEED is exclusively dedicated to advocating for cannabis workers’ rights. Our organization provides industry-leading contracts and empowers workers through diligent representation with job security, fair wages, and access to health and retirement benefits.

CEED empowers cannabis workers by providing them a real voice. Collaborating with organizations through education and political action, we aim to advance the labor movement, uplift the lives of cannabis workers, end inequity, and grow the industry as a vehicle for progress through collective bargaining.

A Career in Cannabis

Cannabis workers are part of a new and important industry. Cannabis is expected to be a $45.4 billion business by 2025. The field is seeing an over 20% increase in employment every year and these gains are projected to continue.

CEED is committed to ensuring that growth is sustainable and that the workers who help build the industry are represented in—and grow with—the industry.

All workers should have a say in their career and their working conditions, especially in a developing industry like cannabis. Cannabis workers face an exciting but unpredictable future. They’ll need organization and strong allies to sustain the momentum they’ve achieved. They’ll need solidarity. They’ll need CEED.
